Sorry,

I know was really selfish there for a while, but I've re-opened the blog (obviously)... but I hope you all forgive me too. I (hope) to earn your trust back and respect and all that... I was the worst leader ever there for a while, eh? I really do apologize, but i never really left! yeah, I shut down the blog but I still kept all my Stardoll files and stuff, i was still there to help if you wanted it!
If you want pres help, be sure to ask, i can and will help you out. But it might not be instant, as I'm busy with highschool and stuff so I can't get on every day.. just every second. :) Soo that's about it. Working on some samples & tutorials friday, should be up this weekend!

byee!

Sample Presentations

I made some on cnpresentations for you to use if you leave credit. Let me know what you think by signing the GB there or commenting on the post I made in the club. Don't be shy to ask for some 'specific' sort of sample you want. Let me know & I'll add it up there. :)

Apply for a position!

So yeah, we're looking for some new assistants for the blog/club. Dani's thinking of leaving SD for good, and I need some help. If you would like to be an assistant, I'd love to hire you. I don't need a personal assistant, I've got Minta. We're working this thing together, and she's one of my closest friends on Stardoll. We need:
  • teachers (1-2): people who have good people skills and can help teach HTML to those who are struggling.
  • blog writers (1-2): people who can write tips, etc. on the blog.
  • blog "designer" (1): someone who can help me update widgets on the blog
If you want to help, contact me and tell me what you can do. I'd need your blogger email so I can add you to the blog staff. Anyone who is working in 'any postiton' will get to be a club manager, and get their medoll's face on the side of the blog too. Contact me on my email: chloeluvsmcqueen@hotmail.com or send me a private message on SD if you'd be willing to help. :)

Firefox Problem - IMPORTANT

Hello, I'm back, reporting on a wee little problem with Firefox and Middle Borders. For some reason middle borders look weird in the editor with the new version of Mozilla Firefox. I'm not sure why, but i'm looking it up... I downgraded my Firefox back to version 3.6.19 and the borders are working normally again. If you want to get the old Firefox, here's the link. If not, hang in there while I try to find a solution. :\

much love,

Club Presentation Tips

1. Make sure you're using Firefox!
2. Try saving your presentation as a normal presentation. That way you'll know if there is a real problem or if its just Stardoll.
3. Use a presentation you made yourself with HTML. Presentations made with Microsoft Word, Witty Profiles, etc. don't always work. (Witty uses div codes)
4. If you're trying to do something complex like putting a scrollbox in a background, make sure you put the codes together in the editor. Don't just drag the scrollbox into the background on Stardoll... it usually messes up.
5. Language. Stardoll is quite fussy about language, make sure there is nothing inappropriate in there. Or else it won't save.

Back! & Lessons

Heeey! I'm back! Missed you all. <3 But my exams went well, so I suppose it was worth it. Hope all of your exams & assessments went well! :D
Sooo if you're keeping up with the blog, you probably heard about the new lessons. Scrollboxes & Dragging. There are more lessons coming soon, so stay posted for them!
Also, custom samples will be coming soon. They will be sample presentations that you will be able to use for your page. Just be sure to leave credit, because it takes a lot of work to make the perfect pres. :)

Saturday 28 May 2011

Goodbye for now.

Most of you have read this in the club, but I thought I'd post it here for those of you who missed it.

I'm sorry, but I won't be on Stardoll much until June 20th. That's the day my exams will be over. Until then, I'll be very busy studying so that I can do well. I NEED to study. I just got a math test back, and I got 77%. I usually get in the 90's. I will be on Stardoll over the weekends to answer any questions and check up on everything, but that's about it. I probably won't be updating the blog or anything like that.
Until I get back, please contact minty897 or jumpy_spark if you have any questions or problems with HTML. Once I'm back, we'll have a scenery comp & more good updates. Until then, I'll miss you all. Thank you for understanding. :]

People Who Copy Samples

Ello ;]. Its Minty.. I just thought I'd make a post about people who copy samples and credit them to themselves. Its so rude (and pathetic) its not even funny. Its just as bad as copying someone's essay for a school project. Its plagiarism. And its WRONG. So don't do it.

Most of you haven't copied, but I have come across lots of presentations with our glowing text on it & no credit... Please be reasonable, and don't copy someone's work as your own.

Friday 13 May 2011

Update!

I changed the lessons page a bit, let me know what you think. :) Check the club for more details. More lessons will be up asap. Bah, who am I kidding? It'll probs just be one a week on the weekends... I've got exams coming up and i NEED to study.

Ooh, also, the normal samples are fini! :) Custom samples will start coming up soon, one each weekend as well. I am truly sorry its taking so long... i keep putting it off. D: I promise, I WILL do it this time!

Finding a Code

Ever see someone who has a presentation with something you've never seen before? Here's a little lesson on how to find a code from a presentation.
There are two things I suggest you try:

1. Check some HTML blogs and see if you can find it there
2. Use WittyProfiles* and drag the presentation into the "New Code" part. You can click source or whatever and get the code there.

* Witty uses codes so this might not work. Also, if the code is too long and messy Witty won't show you the whole code. #1 is probably you're best bet.

Custom Samples !

I'm (finally) finished the border and text samples. YAY! :D Now I'm working on scrollboxes and then its time for custom samples! Some people have already suggested one, but if you have anything specific you want (Ex. a certain sized/coloured box) be sure to let me know and I'll put it up there. :)

Sorry

Hey everyone, sorry its been a while since I've posted. I know I'm about two weeks behind on the samples, but I'm getting started now.
This week has been absolutely crazy. Two tests and an exam project due for school. I barely had time to do my regular homework and ballet, nevermind time on Stardoll and HTML stuff. But I'm back now, four days off for Easter and only one test next week. YAY! :D
I'll let you all know when the Samples are caught up, until then, thanks for understanding. :)

Samples

Samples are coming soon! I'll start with glowing text and backgrounds, but i'll make borders and such too. If you've got anything you want a sample of, send me what size, colour, etc. and I'll make it and add it to the soon-to-be Samples page! :)

Copying & Copiers!

Please, whatever you do, do NOT copy my presentations. I put hours of work into them, and its not fair when people steal them without my permission. If you want a presentation, just ask and I'll make you one. But you can't go around stealing my work. If you copy my presentations, I will report you without hesitation.

Candyroxy copied my presentation. I've asked her to take it down, and she did! So she's off the hook. :)

Dragging

Some of you've been wondering how to drag the presentation from the HTML editor to your Stardoll presentation. So here it goes.

1. Open up one tab with the HTML editor and another with Stardoll. On Stardoll, go to your suite and edit your presentation like normal.
2. In the HTML editor, on the top part before your code, write Start. On the bottom half of the editor, highlight your presentation starting from where you wrote Start.
3. Drag it up into the Stardoll tab, and let it go in the presentation editing area. You can write whatever you want to go in your presentation on Stardoll, I find it easier that way.

** Don't copy&paste. It never works for me. :\ If you're still having trouble, let me know.

The Basics

Hey everyone!
Here are a few basic things you need for making your presentations.
Mozilla Firefox: This is a type of internet browser. If you don't already have it on your computer, you can download it for free on the Mozilla Firefox website.
There are a few websites you will NEED to use every time you make a presentation. They are:
htmledit.squarefree.com
http://webdeveloper.earthweb.com/repository/javascripts/2001/06/48571/hex.html
The first one is where you'll put the codes, and the second one is where you get the colour codes. This might seem really confusing at first, but I promise you it won't be too bad. It's actually quite fun! :)
